OPENING DOORS TO A MORE ENTERPRISING WHITECHAPEL
TOWER HAMLETS FLEXIBLE AND AFFORDABLE WORKSPACE PROJECT

Whitechapel, in the heart of London’s dynamic East End, is an area with a rich cultural and social heritage. Bordering the highly developed City fringe, it has its own cultural character, underpinned by strong established local communities. It’s a promising place to grow your business, or find the right niche for your social enterprise.

Tower Hamlets Council and its Whitechapel Vision Delivery Team have launched a new project to bring local vacant buildings back into use by helping landlords to make their empty or underused buildings available as low-cost, flexible workspace for small businesses and social enterprises. The goal is to open the doors to a more Enterprising Whitechapel.

HOW IT WORKS

An empty property can cost money in maintenance, security and utility bills. Empty properties are also more vulnerable to fire, floods and leaks, and other risks. We can offer:

  •  Flexible lease terms
  •  Vetted tenants
  •  Cost mitigation

We’re looking for workspace providers who are able to take on our larger spaces and manage them. We can offer:

  • Flexible lease terms with a minimum initial period of 2 years

What's Enterprising about Whitechapel?
Growing and connected:

The London Plan has designated Whitechapel as a City Fringe Opportunity Area, and a District Centre. This means regeneration is already happening and will continue. It’s earmarked for at least 3500 new homes and 5000 new jobs.

Already strongly connected by the London Underground and Overground, Crossrail is opening at a new expanded transport hub in 2018, putting Whitechapel not just on the tube map, but on the world map.
