Here are some examples of ventures that have made use of vacant buildings:


A combination of aquaponic farm, polytunnels and a cafe, with a rooftop henhouse crowning the building. This self-sustaining project is run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers and maintains income form the cafe and sale of produce.


The Coming Soon Club

The Coming Soon club accesses empty premises in Wembley and facilitates use by local people to trial new businesses, community activities and creative ideas from these spaces. Commissioned by Brent Council, Chesterfield House is managed by Meanwhile Space and is the new temporary space in the heart of Wembley providing space which can be used as offices, co-working space or studios.


Pennington Street Warehouse

The Rum Factory is transformed into 90 affordable artists’ studios run by charity Bow Arts Trust and is the first meanwhile use of the Pennington Street Warehouse, which forms part of the wider London Dock development by St George.


The Trampery

The Trampery is a London-based social enterprise that designs and operates spaces for entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. They create beautiful working environments and cultivate strong multi-disciplinary communities that are rich in support and ideas.
